Balerno Bowling Club is situated in the heart of Balerno Village which is 9 miles west from the city center of Edinburgh.
The club can be found by driving west from Edinburgh along the A70 Lanark Road to Balerno; turning left at fork junction at Bridge Road then continue to the small roundabout and turn left then left again along Ladycroft Road.
Balerno Bowling Club was founded in 1885, and is a very famous Scottish Bowling Club, through the years; our members have distinguished the club, by winning numerous District, Scottish and National titles.
The club at this moment has 160 bowling members, and 30 social members. We are a member of the Edinburgh + Leith Bowling Association. We play against 9 other clubs in the Water of Leith 1st and 2nd sixteen's league. These games are played mostly on a Wednesday evening through out the summer, on a home and away basis. The ladies play WOL league games on a Wednesday afternoon and the senior section have WOL league games on Tuesday and also play in the West of Edinburgh League on a Thursday afternoon.
There is also various game against touring clubs and open pairs, triples etc.In the summer months from April to October which is the bowling season, and through out the winter months there is plenty of social events, including a Darts League, Carpet Bowls, Line Dancing, bingo for our older/younger members etc.
The bowling club is situated in the heart of the village, and is the meeting point for its members through out the year.

The club has a luxurious lounge to sit and watch the bowling with full bar facilities, and also has a function hall to cater for up to 120 people again with full bar facilities. The downstairs function hall can be hired out to members for a range of functions. Application forms available from the club Secretary.
